Grindelwald

The Swiss town of Grindelwald is not only famous for the James Bond On Her Majesty's Secret Service which was shot there. It has organized winter snow symposiums for about twenty years. At the foot of the Eiger and the Jungfrau, on the Grindelwald skating rink. Every year sculptors are invited from all over the world to make temporary sculptures. In 1987 Lucien den Arend was invited to participate in a two man Dutch team: his colleague van Bennekum agreed to help execute a full scale version of double torus, a sculpture den Arend made in limestone in 1974 and in 1997 a larger version in ashlar for a private garden.
