Maassluis
s.a.i.l. is
positioned on a concrete base consisting of two waves in order to act as a
technically suitable foundation for the curved form. The evocation of water is
less important for Lucien den Arend than the necessity of a horizontal shape
which visually balances the wind swept vertical construction.
